You
will not find a similar item to this on eBay. There are many potential
applications for this LED. Wearable electronics, crafts, model making, custom wiring, etc. In the darkened images the LED is drawing 20mA of current.

0805 LED:
This is the most popular LED for hobbies and custom wiring. The 0805 is very tiny and can be routed/placed where other LED’s cannot. The LED is bright and a very high value resistor can be used to achieve the desired effect. The light source is pin-point with wide dispersion. Flashing LEDs: roughly 8 flashes every 5 seconds, equal time on/off.
3528 LED:
Another popular LED variation. This LED projects a spotlight or flashlight dispersion of around 120 deg. It can be placed in various angles/positions to illuminate a surface evenly with a consistent light level. This LED can also use a very high value resistor
to achieve the desired effect
. In the image the LED is 4″ away from a white surface and the brightest spot is 6″ with diffusion up to 4″.

Each
LED is controlled individually and can be easily interfaced to another
device to vary the brightness levels (current) to produce various
colors. The leads are color coded. In the image the LED is 6″ away from a white
surface and the brightest spot is around 12″ with diffusion up to 12″. This LED can function with currents around 30mA. It can also tolerate currents up to 60mA. *This is not recommended however as the brightness level is not much affected and the LED could be damaged over time.

Note:
The LED is supplied without a resistor due to the varying voltages the particular application will supply. A resistor
must
be used to limit current no matter the application. If a resistor is
not
used the LED can be permanently damaged. In addition.. a
minimum
power source of 3 Volts is recommended for reliable and long term functionality of the LED.
**In order to figure the proper current for the LED you need three values: the Voltage source, the LED voltage drop, and the resistor value. The LED voltage drop for the red, green, orange, yellow, and pink LEDs is around 2 Volts. The blue, white, and UV LEDs are around 3.2V. To calculate the resistor needed for your application use this formula: Voltage source minus Voltage drop divided by the resistor value. For example: if you have a 5V source and a blue LED, and want the max output (close) from the LED (20mA) use this formula: 5-3.2/100 Ohm = 0.018 (18mA).
